Free-ish to a Good Home Rescue Cats in Florida | Pawesome ...

In February of this year, the ASPCA assisted the Madison County Animal Control and Madison County Sheriff?s Office in a massive rescue mission at Caboodle Ranch?in Lee, Florida, a place that called itself a sanctuary for unwanted felines. In reality, the Ranch was very much overwhelmed and nearly 700 cats were living on the ranch in a state of severe neglect. There was no program in place for spay/neuter at the ranch. After a year-long investigation by local authorities, the ASPCA and Animal Control deployed to the ranch to save as many of the cats as they could. Now, many of those cats are finally ready for their forever homes.

Over the past five months, the cats have been living in a temporary shelter in Jacksonville, Florida. The cats have been medically treated, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and socialized. The ASPCA has also won the legal right to place the cats in adoptive homes. This weekend, interested adopters will have a chance to welcome these kitties into their home for very reasonable adoption rates including free at one adoption event.
